Using Imagery

Your mind is so powerful that you can change the physiology of your body simply by a thought. If you think that that's impossible then just say the work "snake" to certain people and you will see an immediate change in their external body.

You can probably imagine the changes that are going on inside also: increased respiration and heart rate, raised blood pressure and sweating to name a few. Now, where is the snake? There is none. It was just a thought.

Wouldn't it be great if you could reverse that scenario and use your thoughts to make healthy changes in your body? You can!

Bring into your mind a time when you were feeling relaxed, calm and comfortable. Make it as big as you can in your imagination, really seeing the things in that scene, feeling the things in that memory and maybe even hearing things that happened at that wonderful time.

Here's an example of what you might say to yourself: I'm relaxing nicely on the clean, secluded beach. I see the beautiful blue-green water. I hear the waves gently lapping up on the shore. I can feel the warm sun on my back and a gentle breeze on my face. The sand beneath my bare feet feels smooth and cool.

Of course you will change it to whatever your favourite scene is and for whatever change you want in your body.

The absence of stress in the body is a great healer. Use this method to begin adding up minutes and hours of stress-free living and your body will respond by being healthier and happier.
