Hypnosis is Accepted by Medical Association
You may be surprised to learn that the British Medical Association approved the use of hypnosis as a legitimate treatment as early as 1892. By doing so, they accepted hypnotherapy as a main line medical protocol, as opposed to complementary or alternative treatment that most people associate it with today. A second, more comprehensive report was made by the same group in 1955 titled "Medical Use of Hypnotism". Part of this report states "...that hypnotism is of value and may be the treatment of choice in some cases of so-called psycho-somatic disorder and Phychoneurosis. It may also be of value for revealing unrecognized motives and conflicts in such conditions. As a treatment,... it has proved it's ability to remove symptoms and to alter morbid habits of thought and behavior." The report also stated "there is a place for hypnotism in the production of anesthesia or analgesia for surgical and dental operations, and in suitable subjects it is an effective method of relieving pain in childbirth without altering the normal course of labor." The American Medical Association followed shortly after (1958) with a report that supports those conclusions stating in part, "the use of hypnosis has a recognized place in the medical armamentarium and is a useful technique in the treatment of certain illnesses when employed by qualified medical and dental personnel." Since that time there have been many trials and controlled studies around the world that have shown hypnosis is successful in managing and relieving pain, eliminating symptoms of asthma, migraine headaches, and gastro-intestinal complaints to name a few. Well, if hypnotism is effective, what is the success rate? In 2003, Flammer and Bongartz at the university of Konstanze in Germany wanted to know the same thing. They analyzed over 400 studies and found that on average, hypnotherapy was 2 to 3 times more successful than control groups. If you are looking for a natural way to relieve pain, change a habit or improve your attitude, hypnosis uses your own body's natural abilities to produce the results that you want. You can't get any more natural than that. And since it is you that is making the changes, there are no side effects. Consider hypnosis.
